03.11.17 Anything Makes Sense #1 @ Kriterion Sarajevo

The phenomenon of liking the sketches better than the artwork itself will appear sometimes when visiting an exhibition, the same phenomenon appears when listening to an artist talk. It can be much more interesting than for example you and the artwork together in a serene white space. Not trying to tackle the quality of the individual artwork, but the verbal dialogue and the peeking into someone’s mind has different qualities than the work someone produces.

Whenever you are in a process of whatsoever, you’ll get inspired by loads of things. Some of it will be recognized in the end result, some of it will fade away to the back of your mind, but keeps the quality of importance. With that accumulating pile of inspiration in the back of your head you have something to tell. So instead of showing the work the evening will be filled with peeking into the mind of the speakers.

All the speakers got a time slot of plus minus 20 minutes. In those 20 minutes they showed fragments, told anecdotes, introduced us to music, in order to explain how they get inspired and what drives them to any kind of result.
